Wordpress 2.8.5 Urgent UPGRADE!!!

The guys from WordPress has prepare another upgrade, 2.8.5. The headline changes in this release are:

• A fix for the Trackback Denial-of-Service attack that is currently being seen.
• Removal of areas within the code where php code in variables was evaluated.
• Switched the file upload functionality to be whitelisted for all users including Admins.
• Retiring of the two importers of Tag data from old plugins.

So it will be usefull to upgrade your wordpress instalations, so you will have a secure WordPress instalation. And be ready, 2.9 version is on the way.

This looks like a pretty serious update, so lets not ignore this one.

I remember a couple of months ago there was a wordpress exploit, and a lot of people did not update. Their sites were later hacked or compromised in some manner. Then they wanted to complain that their sites were hacked.

Indeed it's serious, if you do not do the upgrade you can leave a door open to bad people. But it's up to every one.
