WordPress installation tutorial

Here is a simple tutorial on how to install WordPress on your host.

1. You need to download the latest version from the WordPress website (currently v 2.8.6)
2. Open the archive, and extract it to a folder somewhere on your computer
   
3. Connect to your host, using your FTP client, and upload all the files extracted at step 2
   
4. Open your web browser, and point to the url where you uploaded the files, and click "Create a Configuration file"
   
5. Provide the database information for the installation
   
6. Run the install
7. Enter your blog title, and email address
   
8. Login to the admin panel using the password generated by the installation
   
9. All done. You can now start posting to your new WordPress blog.

These steps are definitely useful for newbies having some technical knowledge, however, if you are not technically sound you may install it through Fantastico or Softaculous with just few clicks.
