Remove wp.me in Wordpress

As many of you already have notice, Wordpress have integrated by default in their install package the shortening service: wp.me
I do not know if this is ok for you, or you want to use a different shortening service, but I can teach you all how to remove this default shortening service from your wordpress installation.

It's quite simple and all you have to do is to insert two code lines in your functions.php

So let's start. First of all open the file named functions.php located in the theme you have activated now on your log.

All you have to do is to insert this 2 lines of code:

    remove_action('wp_head', 'shortlink_wp_head');
    remove_action('wp', 'shortlink_header');
