Serial entrepreneur Peter Dawe, who helped bring the internet to the UK, is launching a "safe" Linux distro tailored for the technophobe.

The idea behind his BabelLinux distro is to give users a free, go-anywhere bootable OS, which is likely to be attractive to operators of public internet PCs.

It's a great idea, I guess it would be something like the distro on the AsusEE. I hear that Microsoft has extended the life of XP home as they are worried about these distos eating into the ultra cheap PC and laptop market.

Linux is not just for low end pcs. many many gamers run linux (usually gentoo if they have sense ;) but most times it Ubuntu as it seems to be the buzzword (and rightfully so)). Ive seen linux on some real powerhorses

what's the difference on Windows and Linux platform?

because, since I started to use the computer I always use windows platform....

In my openion, Linux is less user friendly than Windows, its really for experienced computer users.

Windows is much easier and more user friendly than Linux when you talk of desktop computer
