Fun Atlas Robot From Boston Dynamics Shown Walking, Picking Up Boxes

Google's Boston Dynamics presents the Next Generation Atlas Robot.
Google's Boston Dynamics has revealed the latest version of its humanoid bipedal robot "Atlas."
Boston Dynamics has released a Video showing this new Atlas Robot which is capable of striding through snow, picking up boxes, opening doors and getting up once after being pushed.
The new Atlas is smaller than old Atlas, it looks a lot closer to an average human, at just 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. This is also the first Atlas model to be equipped with a LIDAR system—a spinning metal can embedded in the robot's head.
This new version of Atlas is designed to operate outdoors and inside buildings. It is electrically powered and hydraulically actuated. It uses sensors in its body and legs to balance, and LIDAR and stereo sensors in its head to avoid obstacles, assess the terrain and help with navigation and manipulate objects.
