There seems to be uncertainty about self-driving vehicles being ready to hit the road in 2020, the task several automobile makers have targeted. Andrew Ng expects these new self-driving vehicles will be rolled out by 2019 and mass-produced by 2021.
In past January 2016, a Consumer Electronics Show 2016 was held in Las Vegas, during this exhibition show senior official from Toyota and Mercedes-Benz each offered doubts about vehicles being fully autonomous in only four years. But one artificial intelligence professional doesn't agree. Andrew Ng, chief scientist of Chinese Internet juggernaut Baidu, stated that these new self-driving vehicles will be rolled out by 2019 and mass-produced by 2021, predicting that much at the Structure Data conference in San Francisco, as reported by Forbes.
