Anyone tried using Pinterest to promote their Amazon affiliate products? What techniques do you use to get people to buy the product via your Amazon affiliate product link? How many products you can sell if you have 10k followers?
Great post!! I have been fascinated with pinterest since I first discovered it, and have always had the feeling that there is potential there. This post reaffirmed that feeling. It just seems so time consuming to try to keep up with fresh content that will keep your followers interested and engaged. Any tips on that?@Zirkon Kalti Pinterest is a popular social network and is a very nice tool for Amazon affiliates. The important point to remember is that although the number of potential customers depends on total number of followers, the quality of the followers is a very important factor. Let me explain, if you have a pinterest page and you buy followers using sites which sell you thousands of followers for less than $10, the quality of those followers is really low. A large number of your followers may've joined with no interest in participating. On the other hand if you organically created a following by posting good collections and photos on pinterest, your follower quality is higher.
Other things to remember when you would like to use social profiles to gain customers is that you have to keep your followers engaged in your profile, now how do you do that? By posting fresh, interesting content on a regular basis, maintaining ties with your followers by commenting on their pins and collections, liking their posts and engaging in discussions. Make them keep coming back to your profile to potentially click on an Amazon link and generate a sale for you.
Do not post pictures of products with links randomly and spam your profile yourself, this makes your followers think you are just a spammer with nothing interesting to offer them except pictures and random affiliate links. Try to post pictures with nice captions, descriptions and engage followers in talking about it and sharing it with their own followers. This will need some work, you need to find content which is unique or create your own graphics or pictures for posting. Not many people will share an old picture or article on their social profile if everyone already knows about it or has seen it, people are more likely to share interesting and unique articles, pictures and videos. People share what makes them go "OMG", "Ah", or "Wow". No wonder we see several website now dedicated to posting weird content, shocking images, unique news or a collection of pictures and videos of a selective niche like "10 Most Funny Home Videos" or "5 Most Shocking Facts about Paris".
Lastly, add some text to your link. For example: instead of posting the URL to your Amazon affiliate link blankly, try to get a short URL which works with Amazon affiliate system, post the URL inside some text. Such as: "This top of the line digital camera is ON SALE! Click here to get it and hurry..." or "I was surprised to see it does not cost so much, where to buy? Here is the link friends ..".
And like any other online business venture, patience is the key. Make sure you are getting a steady number of visitors each month for a few months and keep working on the profile even when you are getting high traffic. Because the visitors you see today are coming due to your efforts made yesterday. If you want to keep getting visitors and potential customers, you need to keep working to bring them back tomorrow.
Lastly, do not make your profile a mix up of several categories. Atleast split each specific section into different collections. For example: Your visitor might have come to your profile because they were checking out the picture of a cool jeans you posted. But, on looking at your collection they find random pictures of cameras, jeans, jewellery, make up and books all jumbled up. They might've been shopping for a jeans and all the distraction on your collection drives them away to search somewhere else. Keep your collections in specific niches based on what kind of audience you are trying to attract for each collection. Keep in mind audience in terms of: Age Group, Gender, Lifestyle, etc. If I had a collection trying to target young, female audience who like high-end handbags, make up or jewellery; my collection would feature only items which are of interest to this target audience. This keeps your audience stay longer on your profile and click more links while they browse pictures for items they love to use and love to buy.
