Google hit a grandslam homerun with their Gmail concept. I knew the day I heard the annoucement that it would be a very big positive move for them, but I never had any idea it would be so strong in beta. They've started a whole other industry it seems like, those gmail invites are selling for $20+ in many cases. It's so popular over at WHT that they've had to create a forum for it.

Personally I think it's silly to buy something that will be free soon enough...but as they say, whatever floats your boat.

Yeah its just hot talk for right now.  Yahoo upgraded their free accounts from 4MB to 100MB.  I have basically unlimited since my dad works for Bresnan Communications.  He can talk to one of the admins of the internet part of it to give me more space if needed, but I dont save a lot of emails in outlook.  I always put it on my HDD, CD, or disk.  People just leave emails in their inbox forever and a half.... no wonder it fills up... CLEAN IT OUT.

lol... Yeah Google is doing some testing with the emails?!  At least thats what I am undestanding...

Competition... That's all it is, all it ever has been.

Yeah, I have loads of space as well, but I'm probably going to sign up for one of those Google accounts to use for situations when I sign up for things as such. That way, when I get put on the SPAM lists it goes to that account and doesn't waste my server space. ;)

I still think it's a great move. All you hear is Google this and Gmail that.

So true.  I may do it as well.

With all this crap going on that they are trying to pass a bill to make spam clearly noted, along with pornographic material having to be marked, a good email provider, so to say, that would guarantee all this stuff to be deleted before you see it would be nice, but the bill wont go far.  Even if it does, there are so many ways around it, and those who send out the junk and porn are fairly hard to get some hands on.
