There is no denying the reality that Adobe’s Dreamweaver is a powerhouse web development app. It is one of the contenders that have covered more than a decade long legacy in the industry. The tool has been used by several thousands of developers to build feature rich, interactive and diverse types of websites. However, with time Adobe has crammed in plenty of features in this gargantuan tool! For beginners, utilizing the useful features of Dreamweaver may not be easy. You can do better by resorting to some tricks while using this app.

Below listed are some of the Dreamweaver tips and tricks you can use to make stunning websites and save design time too:

    • Live view - Dreamweaver does offer static view of your open files but you can also resort to using its dynamic view feature to see apps like WordPress. You need to enable the settings under View Menu. As you change to Live View, the familiar Design View pane is replaced. You may also enable Live Code when using the app’s Live View.
    • Split View - Well, Dreamweaver handles coding on its own effortlessly but finicky designers will still want to tweak the code for finesse and absolute customization. That is where the split view of Dreamweaver steps in! Its Split view mode lets you use design and code view side by side. It can be bliss for veteran developers. As you select any element in the app’s Design view, the matching code gets highlighted automatically in code view.
    • Automatic JavaScript Completion - Every developer wants to save time and that is why Adobe has crammed in plenty of time saving feature in its maverick IDE tool. The app already offers Automatic completion for both CSS and HTML. But what about Javascripts? Just use suitable API extensions that enable Javascript code completion. Examples include jQuery API extension for Dreamweaver and there are some others too.
    • Cross browser compatibility - With IE being discarded by majority of web users, and new web browsers gaining market share- it is important that your website gets rendered across browsers perfectly. Thankfully, Dreamweaver offers you options to check compatibility of your site in various web browsers. The app also lets you become aware of issues cropping up in any browser. This saves you from many headaches later.
    • Form Validation simplified - If you want to validate form fields in a site, there is no need to start from scratch all over again- at least when you use Dreamweaver. Simply select a form element and then apply Spry Validation widget from the app’s Insert menu. Then you may control validation requirements using the Property inspector.
    • Making images look a little different - Are you weary of using same old and boring rectangular images in your websites? Dreamweaver has tools to let you use images with varying frame shapes like circular or semi circular. No need to launch Photoshop for this – just use the Response Image options in Dreamweaver’s Bootstrap Component section.
Let us all know if you have any more tips which can help the fellow readers!!

    Cheers!
