The loading speed of your website/blog is very important because if your website loads slow, people will get irritated and search Google for another website that provides what they are looking for. If you want to know how fast your website is loading, you should use the online website speed test. One great website speed test tool is the Page Speed Insights by Google. The Page Speed Insights will let you know the cause for the slow loading speed of your website so that you can make the necessary changes and improve your site’s speed. To speed up the site loading speed, you should not use so many plugins on your blog. Besides, always remember to compress the image resolution so that it will be smaller size. If your site’s slow loading speed is caused by a slow server, you should change to a better host with an uptime of at least 99.99%.
The content should appear as close as possible to the top of the page because content on the lower page level will been seen with a lower level of importance. Also make sure you use H1-H4 tags where possible in the content.
When you write the content, you can link to related content on the site. Doing so will make it easier for the Google crawler to crawl the links and get them indexed in the search engine result. It will take a longer time for Google to index all the internal pages in your site if you don’t cross link them. When interlinking the pages, you must use the right anchor text so that Google will understand what content you are linking to. Interlinking between the pages can help to pass some SEO juice but you must keep in mind that the pagerank juice that is passed to another page will decrease the more links a page has.
If you use pictures on your site, make sure to fill in the title and description meta tag with the right file name according to what is happening in the picture. If you enter a meta description for the image, it will be displayed under the picture and let people know what the picture is about.
The structure of the URL plays an important role in whether your website is crawlable in the search engine. If you want Google to read the words in the URL as separate words, you should use hyphen instead of underscore. Make sure the links on your site are not deeper than two categories including the main topic and subtopic. The URL should be kept short because long URL will decrease the efficiency of the targeted keyword.
You should add your site to the Google Webmaster Tool so that you can submit the sitemap and allow Google to detect any crawling error. If there is any error upon crawling your site, it will be listed in your Google Webmaster Tool.
Google like mobile friendly site so you must make your site template easy to navigate for mobile phone users. You can check how mobile friendly your site is by using the Google Webmaster Tool.
