Bounce rate is a total number of bounces on a page divided by the total number of entrances on the page (for particular time period). A bounce means that a user enters your website on a particular page and leaves from that very same page without taking any other actions. It's not always bad, for instance, a user might find all the needed info on the first page and close your site.

When users enter into a page and bounce back immediately without spending time on that page it is defined as the bounce rate. To overcome this find the page which has a high bounce rate and add some interesting content on that page. This helps you to reduce the bounce rate of a website.
