    E-commerce has become a huge weapon for businesses over the years, beyond any doubt. With time, the number of people buying services and various products online is only increasing. This is no longer limited only to the developed nations. However, the availability of numerous online shopping destinations can be a doubled edged sword for companies running online shops! Buyers can feel tempted to buy from other sellers if they are not pleased with your online shop. Instances of shopping carts left without completion of purchase is quite high these days.


    Ways to ensure customers do not leave your site with loaded shopping carts
    It is not without reasons that web users leave shopping carts midway before completing purchases. The website owners can take steps to reduce these occurrences affecting their revenue adversely. These steps are:
    • Quality images- Sometimes, website viewers leave a purchase midway because the site lacks enough quality images. It may make them question reliability of the online shop. It is a psychological impact.
    • Security protocols- When a buyer is buying something from your online shop, more so for the first time, information and logos of security protocols give him or her assurance. Some people are still hesitant to disclose their credit card details.
    • Adequate contact details and interaction options- In your website, the contact information should be easily accessible. Apart from the ‘contact us’ page, make sure phone and e-mail number link can be accessed from any page. This makes a prospective buyer feel assured. Option for Live chat is also good as it gives the buyer a chance to resolve queries faster than an email or telephone.
    • Varied payment options- It is something that can entice or turn off a majority of online buyers. The more payment options you can keep in a site, the less are chances of carts getting abandoned midway! Apart from credit card, debit card and net banking, you may include American Express and PayPal as payment options.
    • Clear information- Be clear about the time of shipment and costs. Some online buyers dislike buying from websites that only offer approximate delivery date and lack clarity on shipment related aspects.
    • Adequate product details- Online buyers have become rather choosy over the years and the options are aplenty too. They are not much convinced by products description simply copy pasted from the manufacturer’s sites. Ensure the products sold at your site have enough information with quality images embedded.

    You have to optimize your shopping cart to load fast otherwise people will think that it is not safe to buy. Because if the shopping cart is loading slow, there is a possibility that the card will be charged more than one time. You have to make your shopping cart fast so that the customer can checkout smoothly.
