Cookie stuffing is a blackhat affiliate marketing technique where the user receives a cookie from the targeted site which the webmaster of the site the user is currently on is trying to promote. The user don't know that the cookie of the targeted site is stored on his computer. The purpose is to earn an affiliate commission if the user later go to the store, which is the targeted site, and buy something.

It is a technique in which, as a result of visiting a website, a user receives a third-party cookie from a website unrelated to that visited by the user, usually without the user being aware of it.

cookie stuffing (also cookie dropping) is an affiliate marketing technique in which, as a result of visiting a website, a user receives a third-party cookie from a website unrelated to that visited by the user, usually without the user being aware of it. If the user later visits the target website and completes a qualifying transaction (such as making a purchase), the cookie stuffer is paid a commission by the target. Because the stuffer has not actually encouraged the user to visit the target, this technique is considered illegitimate by many affiliate schemes.

Cookie stuffing is an unscrupulous marketing technique that is not accepted nor supported by most reputable affiliate networks. Essentially, it's an act of fraud that lets people earn illegitimate commissions without doing any honest work.
