It is known as File Transfer Protocol. It is used to transfer files from the client to server network. It is built on client server network. There are certain FTP clients available in market like Filezilla, Dream weaver, Cyberduck. It makes transferring the files easy. You just have to configure the settings in your computer and you are all set for this.

File transfer protocol are used for transferring the bulk data. It is the connection oriented protocol means it first establish the connection between client and server then transmission of the data taken place. It is more secure because it only allow the data download and upload after proper authentication of the user.

There are number of application which can be used for transferring files to your web hosting provider which are free to use. This applications also provide you to use dedicated user account to set up FTP created using password manager account or other ftp account as instructed by your web hosting service provider.
Filezilla is the most common app which is being used to upload the files. Other FTP client are as :
